Newly married couples often need a lot to make their houses (or apartments, as the case may be) into homes.  Sometimes, they have nothing to move in with except clothes and love.  If you have friends or loved ones getting married who do not have a wedding gift registry with their favorite stores, it can be a challenge finding appropriate wedding gift ideas.

Some couples may need basic small appliances.  Among the most traditional wedding gifts are blenders, hand mixers, toasters, and coffee pots.  For those starting out in very small apartments, especially in urban areas where studios are common, an all-in-one breakfast maker could be a great idea.  Often, they include a toaster with a griddle for making eggs or pancakes and a coffeemaker.

For other couples, home decor items make great wedding gift ideas.  Picture frames, candle holders and fine china sets often help to make a new house into a home for new couples.  Candy dishes and other items for serving guests are often good gifts as well.

Finally, for the couples who might have been living together for a while that seems to have everything that they need for their houses, gift cards or money are very appropriate wedding gifts.  Every couple needs something, but some of their needs are not as obvious as others.  Giving gift cards or money can help towards getting whatever they need, whether it is something new for the kitchen or bathroom or it is something less obvious like spending money for the honeymoon.  No matter what it is, a couple will appreciate receiving gift cards or cash as wedding gifts.

Weddings are among the most important events in a couple's lives, so it is important to choose appropriate and nice gifts for the occasion.  Wedding gift ideas do not have to be expensive to be appreciated; couples will often be glad that you thought of them on their special day.
