Last Friday, the chamber held a ceremony to officially welcome locally owned business Heavenly Cheesecakes & More into the community. “Friends had been telling me to open up a shop for ages,” said co-owner Shellie Hirsch. “It’s only just now that I’ve finally accomplished that.”
As the new store’s recipes for the classic dessert contain no eggs and sidestep many other traditional ingredients, Hirsch and co-owner Maria Martinek provide their customers with a one-of-a-kind product – a unique and creamy treat fit for any occasion.
“I really love cheesecake, and when I tried this one, I knew it was a real original,” said Betty Gaughan, one of the many who attended Friday’s event. In addition to the cheesecakes, attendees enjoyed the chance to win dessert raffle prizes.
While Hirsch’s unique cakes will melt on any cheesecake lover’s tastebuds, she acknowledges that it took more than unique ingredients to get cooking. “It’s so much more than the recipe that got us here,” she said. “There was a lot of support; a lot of people helped push us to do this.”
That support and inspiration stems largely from Hirsch and Martinek’s army-enlisted sons, who have inspired Heavenly Cheesecakes’ goal to give back to the America. Customers who support our military by wearing red on Fridays receive a discount, and a portion of proceeds from the sale of red velvet cheesecakes go directly to aid U.S. troops.
Heavenly Cheesecakes & More offerings include Pineapple Side-Up Cheesecake, Caramel Pecan Cheesecake, Triple Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake, Zinfully Delicious Cheesecake, and dozens more. The store also offers gluten-free recipies plus an array of cupcakes and other baked yummies from Kianna Gendotti of Kiki’s Cupcakery at the same location.
Heavenly Cheesecakes & More, located at 3101 Balfour Road in Brentwood, is open Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
