Antioch Cop Log: Feb. 22 - Feb. 23
Feb. 22, 3:30 p.m.
Officers of the Antioch Police Department responded to the report of gunshots in the vicinity of Antioch Middle School, 1500 D St. It was discovered that the shots had actually been fired on the 200 block of West 18th Street (closer to A Street). Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots (between three and six) and described the suspects as black or Hispanic males wearing baggy white T-shirts. The suspects fled the area on foot. Officers recovered three expended shell casings from the area and later learned that a vehicle passing through the area might have been grazed by a bullet. At this time, it appears that no one was struck by a bullet and that no students were involved in the incident. The case is under investigation.Feb. 23, 9 p.m.
Officers of the Antioch Police Department responded to several reports of a vehicle/pedestrian accident at the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and East Tregallas Road. Upon arrival, officers found that a 34-year-old male had been struck by two vehicles while crossing the street. His injuries were severe and he was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he died from his injuries. The accident is under investigation.
