May 14, 5:30 p.m. On May 8, the Dutch Pride Dairy at 507 E. 18th St. was robbed at gunpoint by two males wearing masks. One of the two clerks working at the time armed himself and chased the robbers as they attempted to escape in a vehicle parked nearby. When the clerk believed he was being shot at, he returned fire, striking the vehicle as it sped off. On May 14, the same clerk observed the getaway vehicle and called the Antioch Police Department on his cell phone. He followed the vehicle until the police stopped it and detained three subjects: 20-year-old Antioch resident Levele Williams, 20-year-old Antioch resident Steven Warren and 19-year-old Antioch resident Lawrence Thomas. The clerk positively identified Warren and Thomas as the two that robbed him. Subsequent interviews were conducted with all three and confessions were given by Warren and Thomas eventually confessed not only to the Dutch Pride robbery, but to four other armed robberies perpetrated since April 14. All three were booked at the Contra Costa County Jail in Martinez on robbery charges. When detectives re-interviewed Williams at the county jail, he admitted to participating in three of the additional robberies.

May 16, 6:49 a.m. On the 2100 block of Colfax Way, 31-year-old Antioch resident Carlos Montanez and 28-year-old Antioch resident Jason Lujan were seen breaking into a vehicle and loading rifles into their own vehicle from the victim’s vehicle. As they left the area, responding officers located them. Montanez failed to yield to officers and a short pursuit ensued, which terminated on the 2100 block of Dogwood Way, where Montanez and Lujan fled from the vehicle on foot and into the backyard of a residence. A search was conducted utilizing police K-9s and a CHP airplane. Montanez and Lujan were eventually located hiding in a bedroom of a residence. Both were arrested and booked into the county jail on various burglary, theft and weapons violations.
