May 20, 12:45 p.m. A 29-year-old male Oakley resident was traveling eastbound on a Honda motorcycle from Golf Course Road onto Bluerock Drive, proceeding with a green signal light, when a 34-year-old female Oakley resident driving a Toyota Highlander was traveling northbound on Lone Tree Way and failed to stop for a red light. The Toyota struck the Honda motorcycle broadside, ejecting the motorcyclist onto the street and sending the motorcycle to the curb. The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries to both legs and was flown by helicopter to a local hospital for emergency treatment. Hs injuries do not appear to be life threatening. No injuries were reported by the occupants of the Toyota. The incident was apparently not influenced by alcohol or drug use.
