Last night at about 9:30 p.m., the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff received a report of an armed robbery at a convenience store in Discovery Bay on the 1500 block of Discovery Bay Boulevard. The clerk at the store said a man armed with a shotgun entered and demanded money. After receiving the money, the suspect fled on foot. No one was injured in the robbery.

Deputy sheriffs set up a perimeter and began searching for the suspect. A California Highway Patrol helicopter assisted in the search. A police K-9 was also used.

The suspect, who was not located, is described as a white male in his early 20s and wearing a white mask and baseball cap.

Those with information on the incident should call the Office of the Sheriff at 925-646-2441.
