Earlier this month, the Patriots took third place in the eight-team Wilcox Tournament in San Jose, going 3-1. Senior goalie Ty Elder was named to the all-tournament team.
Later, Heritage tied for third at the 24-team Jim Healy Tournament in Napa, finishing 4-1.
Most recently, the Patriots have been asserting their dominance in local pools. Heritage kicked off Bay Valley Athletic League play with a 29-0 victory over Antioch. The Patriots then edged out defending league champion Liberty 13-11. The Lions bounced back Monday with a 15-1 victory over the Panthers.
Heritage advanced to 3-0 against BVAL opponents on Monday with a 12-7 win over Deer Valley. Patriots senior Carter Haines netted a game-high five goals, while Wolverines senior Alex Bilderback led his team with four. Elder finished with 12 saves.
Heritage’s girls team fell to Deer Valley 7-4 on Monday.

Local volleyball teams are hoping for a little more luck when BVAL play rolls around in October. As of Wednesday, no local team boasted a winning record. Heritage (4-7) leads East County, but is coming off three straight losses. The Patriots open BVAL play on Oct. 4 in Antioch.
Freedom, which went winless in 2010, has already claimed victories over St. Elizabeth, College Park and Skyline – all in the George Mark Alameda Tournament. The Falcons (3-5) face non-league foe New Life Christian on the 27th, then start BVAL play on Oct. 4 against Liberty.
Both Liberty and Deer Valley have only one win to their records. The Lions (1-10) defeated Deer Valley in the Wolverine Invitational. Also in that tournament, the Wolverines (1-11) defeated Las Lomas.
Pittsburg (0-2) and Antioch (0-4) are still waiting for their first notch in the win column.
