Friends will be registering needy families on Monday, Nov. 9 from 6 to 8:30 p.m; Thursday, Nov. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City of Oakley White House Community Annex, 204 Second St.
Families must bring either a water or power bill including the family name as proof of residence, as well as a matching State of California identification (drivers license or ID card). Only one family meal will be provided per residence. At least one toy will be wrapped and given to each child in the family up to age 18.
The Oakley Christmas Basket program takes place on the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 20 at the O’Hara Park Middle School gymasium. Registered families will receive a pick-up time at the November registration.
At last year’s inaugural event, Friends of Oakley delivered holiday meal fixings, canned foods and wrapped gifts to 125 families. This year, the goal is to provide for 250 families.
