Brentwood firefighters – with the help of countless passing motorists – once again led the charge to support Jerry’s Kids in the Fill the Boot campaign benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Requesting donations on local street corners last week, the firefighters collected a whopping $21,787, outpacing the second-highest effort from Walnut Creek, which collected $12,617.

Altogether, the men and women of International Association of Fire Fighters Local 1230 raised $61,800, beating last year’s total by more than $14,000.

Congratulations to everyone involved in collecting and donating.
