The Big Break Visitor Center at the Delta hosts its grand opening and dedication on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event includes remarks by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, elected officials and other special guests.

The visitor center is the first official interpretive facility on the Delta and will be the site for interpretive and school programs with a focus on the Delta, its ecosystem and wildlife. The visitor center connects to the Big Break Regional Shoreline with trails, fishing access and a large-scale, interactive map of the Delta that allows visitors to see how water flows through the region.

The Big Break Visitor Center at the Delta is located at 65 Big Break Road in Oakley. For more information, call Brent Montano of the East Bay Regional Park District at 510-544-2200 or e-mail bmontano@ebparks.org.
