UPDATED 3:38 P.M. MARCH 22, 2012
The Brentwood Police Friday identified the couple killed in a murder-suicide on Wednesday as Christopher Lo, 47, and Joyce Lo, 42.
Police said the couple was estranged, and that Christopher Lo did not live at the house where the shootings occurred. His wife had recently filed for divorce, and the break-up appears to have been too much for him to deal with, police said.
Lt. Tom Hansen said Thursday that the incident was called in by the couple's 13-year-old daughter, who was at the house at the time of the shootings. He said that the girl is currently staying with an aunt.
Hansen said the man shot the woman multiple times before killing himself. A handgun was found in the bedroom where the shootings occurred.

Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide Wednesday afternoon in the 1000 block of Finn Way in Brentwood.
Brentwood Police Chief Mark Evenson said officers responding to a call at 2:50 p.m. found a man and a woman in their 40s dead from gunshot wounds. The victims were in one of the residence's bedrooms, where a handgun was also found.
Lt. Tom Hansen said the preliminary investigation is "leaning toward" a murder-suicide, but added "we haven’t ruled anything out. Right now, we are investigating it as a homicide.”
Evenson said the couple's 13-year-old daughter called 911 after finding the victims in the bedroom. According to police, a neighbor said he heard a commotion at his neighbors' house and then the sound of gunshots.
Evenson said a pistol was recovered at the scene.
Scott Bernd, who lives three houses down the street, said that as he walked his dogs on Tuesday afternoon, he observed the man who lives at the residence holding a Victoria’s Secret bag on the front porch and talking to someone inside.
“I could tell from his tone of voice that he was very frustrated, but not angry,” said Bernd, who said he does not know the family. “I’m floored.”
This is Brentwood’s first homicide of the year.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Verena Areval, who has lived in the neighborhood for about four years. “It’s always been such a quiet neighborhood.”
A dozen police and fire vehicles responded to the scene. Traffic was re-reouted when parts of Finn Way and Twain Way were taped off for the investigation.
Police said relatives had been called to care for the 13-year-old daughter.
