The Cards For A Cause Poker Run is scheduled for Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event kicks off at the Red Caboose, 210 Fulton Shipyard Road in Antioch, and ends at Bon Gusto’s, 3045 Taylor Lane in Byron.

The Run includes raffles, a barbecue and live music provided by the Brentwood Blues Band. Pre-sale tickets are $20; $25 the day of the event. The fundraiser supports the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California.

Cards For A Cause is run by Don and Michelle Henslee, whose son Brett suffers from a form of epilepsy known as Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, which has caused him to become mentally retarded and lose his capacity to speak and do normal day-to-day tasks. The Henslee family established Cards For A Cause to draw awareness to epilepsy and raise funds to search for a cure.
