Charlie Ray Jones and Ruby Watson Jones were married in Minden, Nev. on Aug. 21, 1943. They both grew up in Oklahoma – Ruby in Sasakwa and Ray in Wapanucka – and moved to California, where they met. Charlie served in the U.S. Navy in WWII aboard the USS Saratoga the first few years of their marriage. They raised their three children, Ken (Bebe) Jones, Ron (Phyllis) Jones and Elaine (Joe) Morgan in Brentwood. They have six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Ray retired from United States Steel after 43 years of service and Ruby from Liberty Union High School after 26 years of service. Both are active members of the Brentwood Missionary Baptist Church. They celebrated their 65th anniversary with family and friends at the Olive Garden.
