Royal Family Kids Camps will host a charity walk benefiting foster children in East County on Saturday, May 14 at Contra Loma Reservoir in Antioch.

Funds raised benefit Royal Family Kids’ Camps, a nonprofit organization providing free weeklong summer camps to foster children 7 to 11. The camp offers a variety of activities in a safe environment that leave the children with happy memories, confidence and hope for the future. As the organization runs solely on the donations of individuals, companies and organizations, children pay no admission to camp. Since 2000, the camp has treated more than 350 foster children like royalty.

Royal Family Kids Camps also offers a year-round mentoring program called The Royal Friends’ Club, which launched last September.

The 2.5 mile walk begins at 9 a.m. Participants who raise $125 for the cause will earn a Charity Walk T-shirt. Organizers hope to raise $15,000 this year. For more information or to sign up for the walk, visit www.rfkccharitywalk.dojiggy.com.
