The city of Oakley is looking for community-oriented residents interested in organizing neighborhood beautification projects.

A recent citizen survey conducted by the city identified community cleanups as a top priority among residents. The City Council and City Manager’s Office want to help support this as an opportunity to build community.

Participating in a neighborhood beautification day will help improve the look and feel of the city while providing an opportunity to build camaraderie. Projects can include picking up trash, painting fences and planting. The city aims to work with small groups of residents willing to engage in the planning process to identify a project area and the needs to be addressed.

Those interested in participating should call Assistant to the City Manager Nancy Marquez at 925-625-7007 or e-mail marquez@ci.oakley.ca.us.
