Clarence was born to Lloyd and Mary Thomas in the town of Byron. An only child, he graduated from Liberty High School in 1957. He lived in Byron until 1968, when he moved his family to Santa Cruz. He worked for Thomas and Son Trucking, then owned his own company called Goose Crete Pumping. For the last 30 years he has worked for Granite Rock.
Clarence was an outstanding human being, filled with life and love for everyone. He will be missed by many. Clarence is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lorraine Thomas; his two sons, Lloyd and Richard Thomas; his daughter, Annette Harlan; his step-children, Karl Smith and Karen Scott; as well as 14 loving grandchildren.
Services will be held March 17 at Oakwood Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road in Santa Cruz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
