Every year, more than 1,500 students spend a fun-filled day at the Contra Costa County Fair’s School Tour Day – a free field trip for students in kindergarten through fifth grade designed to celebrate and educate.

This year’s Contra Costa County Fair is held May 31 through June 3, and School Tour Day runs Friday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to noon. Applications, available at the fairgrounds office in Antioch, are due by Monday, May 21. Teachers are required to fill out an application for their students and chaperones.

The 2012 School Tour Day features live animal shows, livestock education and demonstrations, community exhibits and tours of the Mangini Agricultural Museum. Entertainment acts include Sea Lion Splash, Circus Imagination, Jeremy the Juggler, Wild West Cowboys, World of Music, Lanky the Clown, Magic on the Midway, and Dr. Solar’s Good Times Sunshine Medicine Show. All visitors are invited to picnic in the Fairgrounds Front Park.

To apply, call 925-757-4400 or visit www.contracostafair.com.
