My wife was shopping the afternoon of April 8 at the Lonetree Wal-Mart and some jerk took her purse out of her cart and left the store. The thief left with our credit cards, keys, cell phone and other personal items and information. My wife called the Police and an officer did arrive and spoke with her and some staff at Wal-Mart and took a report. With all those video cameras and loss prevention folks, not one seemed to have caught the thief on camera. When I arrived to join my wife, we wanted to question some of the employees to see if they had seen anything. The manager barely gave us the time of day, the Wal-Mart employees were non-caring, and completely disinterested in what happened. We left fuming. I will never shop there again.
When I got home I started calling Credit card agencies and found out that during the exact time we were standing there in Wal-Mart talking to the Manager and the loss prevention people, the crooks were actually using our credit cards right in front of us at the checkout stands. Can you imagine the boldness of this crime, right in front of our eyes?
Within a 1-2 hour timeframe, these fools actually used our cards at the Antioch Chevron, Wendy’s, Wal-Mart and Hilltop food mart, so I know they live locally. I plan on finding them if Wal-Mart and the police work together and hopefully take the time to review any video at the different locations and see if these folks appear.
As of this morning, the fools charged $411.00 on our cards. This is a warning for anyone who is shopping out there. Keep your hands on all your valuables when at Lonetree Wal-Mart. The crooks are getting bolder there and the store seems to be increasingly interested in volume sales over customer safety. This is a bad trend.
