Members of Antioch Cub Scout Pack 458 recently learned how to protect their homes and local environment from damage caused when fats, oils and grease (FOG) are incorrectly disposed of in kitchen drains, dishwashers and garbage disposals. The Scouts continue to be active stewards of the environment, having participated in the California Coastal Cleanup and Keep Antioch Beautiful program for Earth Day.

FOG is one of the leading causes of residential sewer blockages, which can cause costly and unpleasant sewage overflows that can damage homes and pollute waterways, harming fish and wildlife habitat.
