Chadwick had his racer purring along in front when at the 20-lap mark it broke a drive shaft. But the victory didn’t go to Neu, who was forced to be content with a runner-up finish in a race interrupted by caution flags. The victory went to Troy Foulgers, who had to come from ninth starting position in the field of 18 modifieds.
The cautions were a result of a $1,000 prize going to the winner of the main event. The extra money lured a total of 24 dirt modifieds, 12 of which qualified for the semi-main. Finishing the main event behind Foulgers and Neu were Nick DeCarlo, Jeremy Petrell, who transferred from a third place finish in the B main, and Tom Hermosillo.
The wingless sprints return to action Saturday night and will be joined by the super stocks, dwarf cars and mini trucks. There will be no racing the following two weekends, May 29 and June 5.
