“Our Nifty E-Waste service benefits the community, the environment, and our clients,” said Futures Explored Executive Director Will Sanford. “Providing convenient, safe and responsible recycling, while offering our clients valuable learning and employment opportunities, is something we’re all very proud of.”
Nifty E-Waste Recycling Centers will accept TVs, VCRs, DVDs, computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, inkjet/toner cartridges, laptops, video game consoles, Internet/music devices, cameras, cell phones, telephone equipment and more. Funds raised from Nifty E-Waste support employment and training opportunities for clients of Futures Explored. Customers who drop off accepted electronics at Nifty E-Waste locations will receive a tax-deduction receipt.
“Nifty Thrift stores have always been about the concept of ‘shop and drop,’ where anyone can shop for household and personal items and conveniently donate items of their own, including books, furniture, jewelry, clothing and collectibles,” said Sanford. “And now with Nifty E-Waste, we’ve expanded that concept to include recycling of electronic items. It’s all part of a broader effort to help the community reduce, reuse and recycle.”
The Nifty E-Waste Recycling Center in Antioch, located at 840 E. Third St., is open Mondays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
