Deer Valley High School senior Kyle Donaldson recently completed his Eagle Scout project.

To earn Eagle Scout status – the highest rank in Boy Scouts – Kyle built several square-foot garden boxes for the Family Emergency Shelter Coalition shelter in Hayward.

With the help of friends, he planted corn, beans, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, onions and zucchini so that shelter residents would enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables.
