“We’re very excited for the reopening of the Brentwood Farmers’ Market,” said John Silveira, director of Pacific Coast Farmers Market Association (PCFMA). “We’ve got some exciting events planned and hope to make this a great year.”
The grand opening celebration includes a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring local dignitaries and a cooking demonstration by Cookin’ the Market.
“We’re looking forward to kicking off the season with a bang,” said Greg Pursley, PCFMA regional manager. “We have a lot of great activities happening and, of course, a terrific selection of California produce.”
The market features dozens of local Harvest Time growers’ freshest produce, including earthy asparagus, flavorful onion, juicy strawberries, greens, fresh seafood and an assortment of home-baked goods, flowers and locally made olive oils.
The PCFMA is the state’s largest operator of certified farmers’ markets, holding 60 events weekly throughout the Bay Area during the peak summer months. Certified Farmers’ Markets feature only California-grown products sold directly to consumers by the farmers who grew, nurtured and harvested the crops.
