The comic known as Cooch will be headlining a weekend of comedy on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18 and 19 at Cap’s Oak Street Bar and Grill in Brentwood. A portion of the weekend’s proceeds goes to Brentwood’s tutoring center A Place of Learning.

Cooch has shared the stage with such comedic heavyweights as Carlos Mencia, Pablo Francisco, Anjelah Johnson, Tommy Chong, Steve Trevino and John Pinnet. He was featured on L.A. TV’s hit show “Mas Comedy” and played himself on the TV show “La Esquina” that premiered on the Mun2 Network. He was featured in a major roll in the movie “Primos” from Zula Entertainment and recently toured on the Lopez Tonight Party Bus Tour. A one-hour special from Cooch is scheduled for broadcast later this year.

Showtime is 9 p.m. both nights; tickets are $15. Cap’s Oak Street Bar and Grill is located at 144 Oak St. For reservations, call 925-634-1025.
