The gallery’s current show, on display through April 29, features oil paintings by two Brentwood residents. Sammy Depetro specializes in western scenes, portraits, art of classic cars and scenes of downtown Brentwood. Peggy Hunt creates paintings of landscapes, seaside scenes and wildlife. Both artists’ work is available for sale, and an artists’ reception will be held Saturday, April 28 from 4 to 8 p.m., at which visitors can browse the art and chat with the artists.
In addition to the monthly featured artist shows, the gallery offers art classes taught by local professionals. The courses include all materials and are designed to be accessible for all ages. Saunie also welcomes local organizations and special-interest groups to use the gallery’s beautiful environment for meetings and special events. Such collaborations, as well as other cooperative endeavors such as fundraisers, help to grow Brentwood’s community spirit and encourage residents to make art a part of their everyday lives.
