In a recent East County Little League AA contest pitting the Giants and the Yankees, the Giants kept their undefeated streak alive by rallying from a four-run deficit, scoring five in the last inning – with two outs.

That final frame, played at Oakley’s Laurel Ball Fields, was made even wilder and wackier by the Yankees, who miscounted the Giants’ outs, and with only two outs began leaving the field.

Once the Yankees retook the field and the Giants started putting runners across the plate, the atmosphere turned electric. The kids in the dugout were screaming, cheering on their teammates at the plate and on the bases. And the parents were yelling louder than the kids.

After the game, Coach Sposito told his boys, “You guys almost gave up, and this goes to show you that you never give up!”
