East County residents are invited to take a trip back in time this holiday season and enjoy a Renaissance feast at The Madrigal Dinner on Dec. 4 and 5 at Resurrection Ministries church in Brentwood. Proceeds from the event benefit local charities.

The Madrigal Dinner is a modern day re-creation of the Renaissance feasts once held in the baronial halls of England marking the 12 days of Christmas. The evening will feature traditional and a cappella carols plus a royal court ruled by the King and Queen.

A Christmas dinner including wassail, a boar’s head and figgie pudding will be served, and the king’s jester will serve as the master of ceremonies. A troupe of the king’s players will present a traditional play.

Tickets for the event are $35 and may be reserved by calling Pat at 925-634-5180, ext. 1332, or 925-240-5119. There will be two dinner seatings: on Friday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. Resurrection Ministries is located at 1275 Fairview Ave.
