Antioch High second baseman Meghan Simarro executes a force-out on Deer Valley's Jessica Pader and sets to uncork a throw to first to complete a double play in the team's recent 7-0 loss to the Lady Wolverines, the only blemish on Antioch High's league record this season. The Panthers, under the guidance of new head coach Jess Quesada, are starting strong. At the time of publication, they had compiled a 3-1 Bay Valley Athletic League record, including a 5-1 road win over Carondelet. The Panthers hosted Pittsburg and traveled to Ygnacio Valley this week, and return to the field in Brentwood Tuesday, April 8, when they play Liberty at 4 p.m.
