I miss my grandma, Irma Maria Gonzalez. She passed away two years ago on April 25, 2007. She raised 11 children, had a helping hand in raising 27 grandchildren and was blessed with the ability to love 10 great-grandchildren. I struggle with the thought of my best friend being gone, so I look toward the time I spent with her and try to remember everything I loved and what made her special.

Roses were her favorite flower, and she smelled like flowers. She laughed out loud, spoke her mind, cooked with an ease of passion and was easy to spend time with. My Grandma loved hugs and kisses and demanded them, though she may have been mad. She represented strength in every way imaginable and defined the word “love.” They say you never truly lose someone special due to them living forever in your heart, but what if it’s not enough? I love you, Grandma.
