Ella Wolfe performs a tribute to Patsy Cline at Antioch’s El Campanil Theatre on Oct. 15 through 17 in “Always … Patsy Cline,” a show that recreates humorous and heartfelt aspects of the late vocalist’s life.

Produced by The Vagabond Players, directed by Sharon Redman and based on a true story by Ted Swindley, the show incorporates more than two dozen Patsy Cline hits, such as “Crazy,” “Anytime,” “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” and “Blue Moon of Kentucky.” It also spotlights the star’s ties with a fan named Louise Seger, played by Rhonda Taylor, who befriended her in a Texas honky-tonk. Their friendship continued until 1963, when Cline died in a plane crash at the age of 30.

Ella Wolfe, who toured the United States for two decades before turning to musical theater, scored a hit last November in a cabaret show called “Standing Room Only.” In the coming production, she’ll have the backing of a six-member band directed by Joan Cifarelli.
