Residents looking to raise the bar on their funometers this fall need look no further than Oakley's latest community recreation guide. Available now at the Oakley Recreation Department (and inside your Oakley Press this week), this year's assortment of classes offers something for everyone.

We have really worked hard to incorporate a variety of programs for children, adults and seniors, said Kelly Hanson, senior recreation leader for the city of Oakley. Not only do we have lots of new classes, we also have the Delta YMCA and the East Bay Regional Park programs listed as well. It's everything in one great guide.

Classes, which run from September through February, include a Halloween workshop, holiday gift-making class, cake decorating and juggling. A new exercise class geared toward seniors with arthritis makes its debut this year, as does a new series of beginning and conversational Spanish class for youth, adults and seniors.

Registration is currently underway and applications are being accepted through the mail or on a drop-in basis. No online or phone requests will be processed.

For more information, call the city's main recreation line at 925-625-7041.
