The curtain goes up in February and March for the Liberty High School Playmakers’ production of “Curtains,” an offbeat murder mystery with lots of laughs. “Curtains” opened on Broadway in 2007 and ran for more that 500 performances, earning eight Tony nominations.

Set in 1959, the show begins with the final scene of the show-within-the-show, “Robbin’ Hood of the Old West,” in which an obnoxious and untalented star actor is murdered.

The cast and crew is at a loss for how to save their show (and lives), but Detective Cioffi of the Greater Boston Police saves the day – and finds love in the process.

Performances are scheduled for Feb. 24, 25 and March 2, 3, 8 and 9 at 7 p.m.; March 10 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 for the general public and $9.50 for senior citizens, youth and college students (with ID). Tickets for the Thursday, March 8 performance are $7.50. Online ticket sales begin Friday, Feb. 17 at www.libertyunion.schoolwires.net/liberty/playmakers. For more information, e-mail lhsplaymakers@hotmail.com or call 925-634-3521, ext. 5489 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
