Children 4 to 8 will learn about Hawaiian self-defense discipline Kajukenbo during a special presentation at the Brentwood Senior Center on Wednesday, April 20 at 4 p.m.

Sensei Les Edwins of East Bay Self-Defense will provide this free, 45-minute workshop and demonstration sponsored by the Friends of the Brentwood Library. Sensei Edwins is a seasoned instructor with more than 15 years of experience under his third-degree black belt.

Created in 1947 in the Palama settlements of Hawaii, Kajukenbo has its roots in jujitso and judo. Kajukenbo is an excellent method of self-defense and a superior fitness regime used by many karate practitioners.
