He was born in Sanger to Harold and Helen Brown on Jan. 23, 1951 and attended schools in the Fresno area before moving with his family to Brentwood. He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1969. Kenny joined his father and brother as a reinforcing ironworker and worked side-by-side with them for their entire lives.
He was a 40-year member of the International Association of Bridge Structural Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Union Local 378. He enjoyed working for Klinger Steel, Chacon Steel and CMC Rebar during his career as an ironworker. He retired as an ironworker in the year 2000 and became the Northern California field operations manager for CMC Rebar in Tracy.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Claudia Brown; daughters, Trace Martinez and Leslie Ott; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Casey and Jesse Martinez and Emily and Ava Ott; sisters, Kathy Treat of Exeter and Kerri Alta Villa of Clovis; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Brown; brother, Larry; and sister, Elaine.
A celebration of his life takes place at the Brentwood Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon and the sharing many happy memories of Kenny.
