Students in Dolores Long’s sixth-grade science class at Excelsior Middle School recently got an up-close look at what makes volcanoes tick – or in this case, erupt – during a unit on nature’s magma-filled molten rocks.
The simulation lab culminated in students presenting, and setting off, their homemade volcanoes.
Not all of the projects reached epic proportions, but Gillian DiVincent, in pink, was one of the lucky few whose volcano erupted right on cue.
