Kids Helping Kids (KHK) is using comedy to promote a serious cause. On Aug. 28 at Prevot’s in Brentwood, the KHK foundation will host an evening of fine food and comedy with proceeds to benefit the organization’s first rescue mission to Ghana, Africa where they will join in the battle to stop child trafficking.

“After five years, we are finally able to go,” said KHK CEO and Co-founder Laura Page. “This fundraiser will help make that trip possible.”

The adults-only evening begins at 5 p.m. and includes a three-course dinner, six comedians and headliner Timothy James who will bring his Magic of Comedy act to the stage. KHK special guest Eric Peasah, who has been rescuing children from human trafficking in Africa for the past eight years, will be at the event, as will Tyler Page, the young man who founded the non-profit organization.

Tickets for the event are $50 per person and $60 at the door. For reservations or additional information, call 925-513-8002. Prevot’s is located at 613 First St. in downtown Brentwood.
