At a seminar held recently at Crosley Gracie Academy in Brentwood, mixed-martial arts pioneer Royce Gracie shows a young jiu-jitsu practitioner how to stabilize a dominant position while on the ground.

Royce Gracie, Crosley’s cousin, conducted a seminar for kids and another for adults, drawing martial-arts enthusiasts from all over the Bay Area. Royce Gracie was the first fighter to be inducted into the Ultimate Fighting Championship Hall of Fame and now travels the world teaching jiu-jitsu.
