The Discovery Bay Lions Club invites the community to its inaugural Monte Carlo Night on Saturday, May 21 from 5 to 11:30 p.m. at St. Anne Church in Byron. Proceeds from the evening serve the ongoing needs of the community.

“This is our first Monte Carlo Night, and with the support of the community we’re hoping to make it an annual event,” said Jim Mattison, longtime member of the Lions Club. “We will also be dedicating this event to our good friend and Lion Jeff Dawson, who recently passed away.”

The evening begins with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m. followed by a dinner of tri-tip, chicken, pasta, salad and rolls prepared by the Boardwalk Grill. Gaming, which begins at 6:30, includes a Texas Hold ’em tournament along with 15 additional tables offering blackjack, craps and roulette. The event also features a DJ and dancing.

“We hope that those who support our community and also want to honor Jeff’s memory will buy their tickets early,” said Mattison. “We believe Monte Carlo Night is going to be a great success.”

To purchase tickets, call Jim at 925-698-1590 or Mikey at 925-525-1407. Tickets may also be purchased at the Boardwalk Grill, 5879 Marina Road in Discovery Bay, or online at www.discoverylions.com.
