Parents and friends of Ron Nunn Elementary students recently sponsored a walk-a-thon called Hope for Japan, which garnered contributions to be donated to the American Red Cross relief effort in that earthquake/tsunami-ravaged nation.

The kids carried handmade Japanese flags and collected donations totaling $1,115. Third-grader Alexa Negrete, second from right, was the top collector at $100.

Congratulations, everyone!
