An Antioch man was shot in the stomach by police Monday after fighting with officers seeking to arrest him on parole violations.

Paul Morales, 36, was shot at about 2:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of Reseda Way while resisting officers attempting to serve an arrest warrant for felony child abuse and parole violations. Morales was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with non-lifethreatening injuries, police said.

In addition to the warrant, Morales was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
