Races set for November election

The candidate filing period for this year’s November election closed Wednesday. The following is a list of those running for town or city councils, mayoral posts and school board seats.

CITY OF ANTIOCH Mayor (one seat open):

Gary Agopian, Donald Freitas, Wade Harper and Michael Anthony Leon.

City Council (two seats open):

James Davis, Noel Pinto, Mary Rocha, Walter Ruehlig and Monica Wilson.

City Treasurer (one seat open):

Donna Conley.

City Clerk (one seat open):

Argentina Davila-Luevano and Arne Simonsen.

CITY OF BRENTWOOD

Mayor (one seat open):

Steve Barr and Robert Taylor.

City Council (two seats open):

Chris Becnel, Robert Brockman, Gene Clare, Carissa Pillow and Erick Stonebarger.

CITY OF OAKLEY City Council (three seats open):

Randi Adler, Ron Borland, Diane Burgis, David Hansen, Douglas Hardcastle, Kevin Romick and L.J. Souza.

TOWN OF DISCOVERY BAY Community Services District (full term – two seats open):

Jim Mattison, Bill Pease and Mark Simon.

Community Services District (half term –one seat open):

Michael Temby and Ray Tetreault.

TOWN OF KNIGHTSEN Knightsen Community Services District (two seats open):

Janet Brown and Linda Weekes.

Antioch Unified School District (three seats open):

Linda Anderson, Randy Benevides, Barbara Cowen, Diane Gibson-Gray, Zandra Raphael, Claire Smith, Debra Vinson, Synithia Walker and John Yeager.

Brentwood Union School District (two seats open):

Jim Cushing, Vincent Kraeber and Carlos Sanabria.

Byron Union School District (two seats open):

Bobbi Greene, Mark McBride and Ken Silman.

Knightsen Elementary School District (three seats open):

Thomas Baldocchi, Jr., Frank Dell, Michael Matienzo, Adam McMeans and Janice Smith.

Liberty Union High School District (two seats open):

Oakley Union Elementary School District (three seats open):

Who remembers the "good old days" with an election in even numbered years in June and November?
