The Delta Mud Cats won their first tournament of the year, going 3-1 at the TPR State Qualifier in Turlock earlier this month. The Mud Cats played solid baseball, beating the Sting Fall 7-4 and the Walnut Creek Bulldawgs 3-2. The only loss came at the hands of the Nor Cal Wolfpack, 7-6. The championship game against Sting Fall team was the two teams’ second clash of the weekend. The Mud Cats put the pedal to the metal and never let up, winning 12-0. Everyone contributed – dominant pitching, stingy defense and solid hitting.
