Contra Costa County education officials recently visited Oakland Unity, an independent public charter school and the highest-performing high school in the Oakland Unified School District. Oakland Unity’s attendance rate over the past six years is 96 percent, its graduation rate is 94 percent, and 74 percent of its graduates are accepted to four-year universities and colleges.

CCC Board of Education Trustee Cynthia Ruehlig, center, and Antioch Unified School District Trustee Walter Ruehlig, in back, toured the campus to meet with students and faculty members, examine data and observe classes.
