Oakley has a new city clerk, Libby Vreonis. Vreonis has been employed in the City Attorney’s office as a legal secretary and a paralegal for the past three years, and she assisted retired city clerk Nancy Ortenblad with various duties, including the 2010 election paperwork, plus City Council and Redevelopment Agency agendas.

“I look forward to serving the Oakley community as city clerk,” Vreonis said. “I appreciate the wonderful support of our City Council and staff in providing this opportunity. I am forever grateful to our former city clerk, Nancy Ortenblad, for sharing with me her experience, knowledge and wisdom in relation to this position.”

Vreonis holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley, a Juris Doctor from John F. Kennedy School of Law and an L.L.M. in taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law. She will continue to divide her time between the city clerk duties and serving as paralegal in the City Attorney’s office.

Vreonis is a member of City Clerks Association of California, International Institute of Municipal Clerks and Mount Diablo Legal Professionals Association.

Outside of work, Vreonis enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending yoga classes, and is pursuing an education in her hobbies: viticulture and enology.
