Passing math exams is a high school graduation requirement. Dr. Martin Elliott of 1 Minute Math has announced the immediate availability of 10 full scholarships for an online math-tutoring course to help students pass their math tests.

Applications must be submitted by May 14. Parents interested in assisting their students may also apply. Applications should include the student’s age, current math grade, why and where they need math help, and e-mail address. Successful applicants will agree to do the assignments and practice exercises required.

The course presents math as a foreign language and emphasizes understanding the vocabulary of algebra, geometry, statistics and word problems. The program includes test-taking techniques that can improve test scores.
