Discovery Bay resident and Vietnam veteran Paul James Morehead, 59, passed away at his home on Sept. 7.

Born on Sept. 26, 1950 in Oakland, Paul was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969, served two tours in Vietnam, received the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious achievement in the Republic of Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1975.

His parents, Robert and Pauline Morehead, preceded him in death. He is survived by two brothers, Robert and Randy Morehead; his spouse, Lorraine Morehead; daughter, Paula Morehead; step-son, Matthew Morrone; step-daughter, Justina Morrone Staley; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and godsons.

A memorial service was held Sept. 12. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made for future family needs.
