In anticipation of expected showers this week, free sandbags are available at the following locations. Residents must provide their own shovel and transportation.

Ambrose Park and Recreation Center

3105 Willow Pass Road, Bay Point

West side of the parking lot next to the fence line approximately ¾ of the way back to the playing fields. 250 bags on site.

Contra Costa County Fairgrounds

1201 West 10th St., Antioch

250 sandbags are stored in the loft inside the maintenance shop. The sand cradle is located north of the maintenance facility.

Byron Airport

3000 Armstrong Road, Byron

250 sandbags stored in pump house at the junction of Byron Hot Springs Road and Holey Road. The pump house is locked and alarmed. Contact airport personnel to open. To the west of the pump house is the sand cradle.
