I just wanted our local residents to know about the new, fun-filled Thursday nights – right here in our downtown Brentwood.

So many great changes from previous years. Plenty of things for the kids to do while you enjoy the hot live music, tasty food, meeting old acquaintances, or taking in whatever is featured that week (car show, singer, Brentwood Idol, Bakers Contest, Oktoberfest).

This year there are many sidewalk tables set up – and easy-to-order, inexpensive menus to order from close-by restaurants. Also hot dogs, etc., from good, smaller outlets.

I was curious about who was responsible for completely reorganizing the Thursday night events – and for making it such a fun time for everybody. The name Peggie Schuitemaker was the answer. So thank you, Peggie, for all the time you have put into making Thursday nights into such a successful enjoyable event!

Actually, I wasn’t totally shocked that Peggie was involved, because I remember about 15 or so years ago when she was appointed CornFest chairperson – and our Brentwood CornFest that year suddenly became one of the largest, most popular events in Contra Costa County.

So, if you like all the changes in the downtown Brentwood Thursday night events, why not let Peggie know? I’m sure she would appreciate it.
