Residents are invited to celebrate the opening of the new Discovery Bay Sheriff’s annex and meet the town’s two new resident deputies and its crime-prevention specialist on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Discovery Bay Shopping Center, 1555 Riverlake Road.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to come out and celebrate what we all feel is a wonderful addition to the town and its residents,” said Lt. Mike Burton, seen here in front of the annex in June.

Sheriff Warren Rupf is hosting the event in partnership with Supervisor Mary Piepho, the Discovery Bay Community Services District and the Discovery Bay Chamber of Commerce.

The event will feature food, refreshments and giveaways.
