For the 84th straight year, Oakley celebrated the efforts of Portuguese Queen Isabel in the 13th-century to feed and assist the poor. Held each year as part of the observation, the Flor Do Oakley Holy Ghost Festival includes a re-enactment of the procession ordered by the queen to honor the Holy Spirit for saving the people from famine. This year’s procession featured a Royal Court, front row from left, of Sidemaid Lila Gammond, Junior Queen Maiyah Mendoza and Sidemaid Sarah Sarmento; back row: Sidemaid Cearra Upton, Senior Queen Annemarie Mendonsa and Sidemaid Anela Medeiros.
